Welcome to the Child Care Aware of Eastern Kansas e-learning site! We are committed to providing high-quality professional development and technical assistance (coaching) to early educators in Kansas. All of our courses are available statewide and offer KDHE approved in-service hours. Our courses are instructor led, but allow for flexible schedules and participation within the course time frame. We utilize discussion boards, videos, images, self-evaluation tools and action plans to help participants get the most out of the online learning experience.

Helping Families Navigate Transitions in the Early Years- 3 hr course
Participants in this course will learn how to support children and their families through early childhood transitions. This class will focus on three types of transitions in early childhood settings: home to child care, classroom to classroom in the same program and preschool to kindergarten. August 6-13, 2025

Telling Your Story Through Creative Documentation 3 hr course, August 20-27, 2025
Take this class to learn about ways to use visual documentation to show children’s individualized growth or progress on classroom projects. We will look at ideas on how to use documentation to decorate your learning space, communicate with families, and support children’s intellectual and emotional growth. Along with reading course content, you will have opportunities to view videos, share ideas with other classmates on the discussion boards, and plan your next documentation design. KDHE hours: 3

Beyond the Book Nook: Creating a Literacy Rich Environment - 3 hr course September 17-25, 2025
In this class we step beyond the book nook and learn strategies to enhance your environment and provide many literacy rich experiences for the children in your program. We will cover materials, the teacher's role and practice with self-evaluation tools so you can custom design a curriculum that works best in your program.
This course is approved for 3 KDHE in-service hours, cost is $20.
