    Welcome to the Child Care Aware of Eastern Kansas e-learning site!  We are committed to providing high-quality professional development and technical assistance (coaching) to early educators in Kansas.  All of our courses are available statewide and offer State approved in-service hours.  Our courses are instructor led but allow for flexible schedules and participation within the course time frame.  We utilize discussion boards, videos, images, self-evaluation tools and action plans to help participants get the most out of the online learning experience.

Family Engagement Through Brain Building Activities- 3 hr. course

 

Join us in this course to learn about ways to engage families in your program through brain-building activities. We will look at the benefits that family engagement opportunities can provide to your early education program, free family engagement resources and strategies for using them. July 8-15, 2026

The Journey to Independence: Applying Child Development in Daily Practice – 3 hr. course

 

Join us as we explore ways to apply child development knowledge into daily practice and lesson planning to support children’s growth and development in all domains. We will cover the progression from infancy through the preschool years as children develop in their communication, self-help, sharing and problem-solving skills. July 29- August 5, 2026.

Let’s Move!– 3 hr. course

Come explore ways to harness the high energy and playfulness of children into activities that grow their minds and bodies.  We will discuss and share both structured and unstructured playful activities, as well as rough and tumble play. August 5-12, 2026

Building the Infant’s Brain One Interaction at a Time - 3 hr. course

 

Participants in this course will learn how language and literacy, cognitive and social emotional skills develop in the first two years of life and strategies to support them. August 12-19, 2026

Supporting Parents of Infants- 3 hr. course

 

Enroll in this class to familiarize yourself with information on new parent stresses and infant development to better support the needs of parents of infants. Sept. 9-16, 2026

Using Visual Tools to Improve Child Learning – 3 hr. course

Explore a variety of visual tools that can be used to help children learn executive skills, foster language development, and grow their independence and social/emotional skills.  We’ll cover strategies for preventing challenging behavior, enhancing memory, and improving communication using visuals that can be tailored to meet the unique needs in your classroom. September 23-30.

This course is approved for 3 State-approved in-service hours.

Director’s Toolbox: Onboarding and Supporting Staff – 4 hr. course

Participants in this course will learn how organizational culture sets the foundation for staff recruitment and development. We will also explore strategies for onboarding newly hired staff as well as strategies for retaining current staff through individualized support. Sept. 30 - Oct. 9. 2026

This course is approved for 4 State-approved in-service hours.
